Mastercard has a special rate for card-not-present/e-commerce transactions. These are riskier transactions because of the risk of fraud, so they have a higher interchange rate.

MasterCard is the second-most used credit card worldwide, and as a merchant you probably accept it if you accept credit and debit card payments. 

Interchange rates are paid whenever a merchant processes a transaction and is usually presented in the form of a percent plus a few cents per transaction. Interchange rates are not regulated by any government entity, so they are set by the card networks themselves.
